Welcome Home

Hello old friends,

We’ll remember that time I said that I was just popping into Africa and that I’d be back soon? Yeah, well, I guess I lied. That was almost 2 years ago!

I suppose that I’ll catch you up on what’s been going on in the past 2 years before continuing with blogging.

I went to Ghana for 3 months. It was exceptional and life changing and rewarding and hard. You can read about it at my other blog, here.

I returned to Australia and my boy moved from Sydney to Melbourne. We continued with our university studies. I then went to the Northern Territory in Australia to do some good work with Indigenous Australians. You can read about my experiences, here.

After that, back to uni. Then New York! I interned at the Center for Constitutional Rights for 3 months doing International Human Rights law. More hard and rewarding work. You can read about it here and here. For a little bit my boy joined me in the Big Apple after his adventures in India.

Then it was back to university for both of us. But luckily for me it was my last semester of law school. After almost 6 years of studying! And then I was offered a job with the Australian Attorney General starting in February 2014. And then I got married! There’ll definitely be blog posts coming up about that, but in the mean time you can check out some of our photos here.

Right after that we moved to Hong Kong!

So I guess you’ll forgive me for failing to blog, but life’s been pretty hectic the past few years!

So currently the boy and I are living in Hong Kong for his film studies and I’m working on passing the bar so that I can work as a lawyer when we get home.

I thought this blog could be a great place to record our adventures while we’re away!

Anyways, I hope you’re as happy to have me back as I am happy to have returned!

Study Sessions

It’s exams (finals) time here in Australia for the next 2 weeks. So this Saturday night I’ll be studying it up. Yay! (not.)

Brain food = craisins, almonds and jelly bellies.

Luckily for me I have a bunch of friends who study together which makes me feel less lame for my nerdiness.

Also – studying bring out my addiction to herbal teas. Ginger and lemon is seriously life-changing.

Hope your Saturday night plans are funner than mine!

xoxo

My Best Friend’s Wedding

Speaking of my BFF…

So way back in Feburary I was still living in Jerusalem. But my best friend was getting married. What to do? Well obviously she loves me so much that we split the ticket for me to return to Australia for just over a week so I could dance and sing and be merry at her wedding.

You can tell that I was pretty happy to be there!

Once we had all of his and her siblings and friends the bridal party got a bit out of control.

They are soooooo in L.O.V.E!

So beautiful!

Chillin with ma and pa

You can see more of this lovely gentleman here.

All in all it was a simply magical wedding!

Mazal Tov!

JSF

Last night the boy, myself and the crew went on an adventure to go hear Jonathan Safran Foer at the Wheeler Centre.

It was wonderful.

He spoke about his grandmother and his son and factory farming.

Afterwards I bought his 4th book ‘Tree of Codes.’

It was a bit pricey but hopefully worth it.

Since we hadn’t eaten all day (here‘s why) – we went out after the talk to get Lord of the Fries (as always!)

Spicy vegetarian burger? Delicious.

Organic ginger beer? A winner.

Fries with Vietnamese sauce? Yes please!

As the above picture demonstrates we were all very satisfied in our minds and our tummies.

How was your weekend?

Recent History

Before I went into hiding for new years the boy arrived from Sydney for some quality time.

I failed to document him but some of our activities made the cut

Taste D-Lite finally opened in Australia. So we popped in for some peanutbutter-oreo goodness.

On our way to the deliciousness we walked past this totally haunted house.

I know it’s hard to see but on the 2nd story balcony there’s a gorilla holding a woman by her ankle.

In honour of my friend’s housewarming a friend of mine made toffee apples – srsly awesome. For more of my escapades with this friend – see this.

Also work finished early today – so now I’m off to enjoy the rest of my weekend!

Not an Advertizement

Just so you know m&m’s aren’t paying me for this endorsement.

But they should.

I’m just letting y’all know that I found these.

Yup. Coconut m&m’s. Very exciting! (For those in America ignore my southern hemisphere deprivation from confectionery)

And I found these.

Pretzel m&m’s!

I’d say they are the best flavour m&m’s out there.

So salty and sweet!

So crunchy and colourful!

P.S. shout out to Talmud and her ram’s horn

I’ll be updating y’all on my New Years preparations shortly

Back in the day…

Here’s what I found lying around the living room today.

A Woman’s Day magazine from the 60s!

So so so awesome!

It’s like a Mad Men episode that I can touch!

It’s full of englightening articles and advertizements.

Such as this…

Racist much?

Maternity girdles? As if carrying around a very small person inside you wasn’t uncomfortable enough!

And an ad for tampax. Kinda cool…

Expect to see more where these came from!
